About THIRST

Our Purpose: “THIRST seeks to UNITE our youth as one, that they may DECLARE Christ as Lord, and IMITATE Him as a living SACRIFICE in order to GLORIFY God.”

THIRST @ St Marks was established in 2006 with the vision of “Making Christ Known”, spreading the good news of God's amazing rescue plan for the world to the school-age audience of Malabar, it's surrounding suburbs and beyond.

The youth leaders at THIRST are committed Christians, who have a great desire to see youth of all ages, grow in their love for Christ.

THIRST caters for high-school students from Year 7 to 12.

What happens at THIRST?

A night at THIRST begins with an introductory game.

This is followed by a welcome and introduction over supper, including a recap of the previous week and a variety spot.

The focus of the night is a short bible study or talk, with small group discussion challenging the kids to decipher a selected bible passage or topic for themselves.

Prayer is also an important part of the evening, where the kids are encouraged to speak to God, praying for one another and what they have learnt.

The night ends with announcements and updates, following by one final game or time spent getting to know one another better.

While the kids are encouraged to invite their friends to THIRST every week, a dedicated evangelistic outreach night is also run during each term where the gospel is explained in a simple but challenging way by a bible-focused speaker.

Socials often conclude each term, with details provided in advance.
